The Eglinton River is a river in the southwest of the South Island of New Zealand. It rises at Lake Gunn, 25 km east of Milford Sound and flows in a southerly direction about 50 km through the Fiordland National Park. It flows over the North Fjord on the east coast of Lake Te Anau.

Over most of its course, the river of the only major road of the area, State Highway 94, which leads from Te Anau to Milford Sound, accompanied. The south end of the Milford Track is located near the Eglinton River.

The river south of Knobs Flat formed a now isolated oxbow lake, the Mirror Lakes.
