Eike Immel

Eike Immel ( born November 27, 1960 in Stadtallendorf ) is a former German football player. He was German national goalkeeper and was inter alia in the 1986 World Cup and 1988 European Championship squad in the selection of the DFB.
Career as a player
Association
As a 15 -year-old went Immel, the son of a farmer, from the youth team of the Hessian club TSV Eintracht Stadtallendorf to Borussia Dortmund. Immel debuted in August 1978 as a 17- year-old in the Bundesliga in the 1-0 victory at Borussia Dortmund against Bayern Munich.
He moved in 1986 from Borussia Dortmund, where he had played a total of 247 Bundesliga games, as a former number three of the German national team to VfB Stuttgart. In the season 1991/92 he had his biggest success by winning the German championship.
In the season 95/96 his coach Rolf fringer gave the young keeper Marc Ziegler preference. Therefore, to leave VfB Immel decided and moved to the Premier League to Manchester City.

Career as a coach
His coaching career began Eike Immel during Württemberg Association division VfR Heilbronn, with which he ascended as runner-up behind SpVgg Au / Iller in the Oberliga Baden- Württemberg in 1999. In March 2001, he moved to Turkey to first Beşiktaş Istanbul, where he (as well as at the following stations ) under Christoph Daum worked as a goalkeeping coach. After his resignation in May 2002, he joined in October 2002 for FK Austria Wien, before he worked between July 2003 and December 2005, the Turkish giants Fenerbahce and Volkan Demirel trained. Immel is the father of a daughter and a son.
In 1989, he supported the campaign by Lothar Späth in Baden- Württemberg.
Eike Immel is a member of the Board of Trustees of the youth football foundation. The Youth Soccer Foundation was established in 2000 by Jürgen Klinsmann, another successful national team as well as the lecturers of the football coach - special course.
