El-Tod

At- Tud (Arabic الطود, DMG aṭ -TUD, and et- death, el- el- death or death, ancient Egyptian Djerti ( Drty ); Touphion ancient Greek ) is a town about twenty kilometers southwest of the city of Luxor in Egypt. The Month Temple

History of Research

Fernand Bisson de la Roque led 1934-1940 by excavations in at- Tud. 1936 was discovered in the foundation of the temple of the " treasure of El - death ", which consisted of four bronze chests Amenemhet II and partly imported from the Middle East valuables. This treasure is now in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo and at the Louvre in Paris.
