Elbert Dijkgraaf

Elbert Dijkgraaf ( born January 6, 1970 in Almelo ) is a Dutch economist and politician of the State Professional Gereformeerde Partij ( SGP ).

Dijkgraaf studied economics at the Erasmus University Rotterdam and gained his doctorate in 2004 with a dissertation on the regulation of Dutch descent. Since 1995 he has worked as a scientist at the university, since June 1, 2009 as Professor of Economics questions of the public sector.

Politically, he was engaged from 1999 to 2003 as chairman of the youth organization of the SGP. Since 17 June 2010, he is a member of the Second Chamber of the Dutch Parliament.

Elbert Dijkgraaf is married and lives in Rotterdam. He is a member of the Reformed churches, and writes a regular column as well as comments in Reformatorisch Dagblad, an orthodox -reformed newspaper in the Netherlands.
