Eleanor Garatti

Eleanor A. Garatti - Saville (* June 12, 1909 in Belvedere, California, † September 9, 1998 in Orinda, California ) was an American swimmer.

Saville first participated at the Olympic Games in 1928, where she won the 4 x 100m freestyle relay gold medal in an individual in the 100 m freestyle competition, the silver medal. After the Olympics, she married and took the name Garatti under which they then also took part in the Olympic Games in 1932. Four years earlier, she was started under the name Saville. Again she won with the four relay gold medal, which she was the only swimmer who had already heard of the 1928 victorious season. In individual competition, she swam in the heats a new world record, but in the finals they missed the win and won the bronze medal.

In 1929, she won the 100 -meter freestyle competition in the AAU and remained with her ​​time as first woman under 1:10 minutes.
