Elektrougli

Elektrougli (Russian Электроугли ) is a town with 20,136 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010 ) in the eastern Rajon Noginsk Moscow Oblast, Russia. It is located 36 km from Moscow and 20 km from the raion center Noginsk away.

History

Elektrougli was written in 1899 at the then already built a railroad from Moscow to Nizhny Novgorod with the founding of an electric industrial company who gave the place its present name also ( Elektrougli means " electric coal "). From 1935 to 1956, had the status of a working class neighborhood, after which it was granted city rights.

Economy and infrastructure

Main operation of the city is still the factory Elektrougli, furthermore there is in place a cable plant and a ceramics factory. Elektrougli is also the site of a research institute for the development of electric carbon products for the defense industry. This was also involved in the drafting of the intercontinental ballistic missile Topol -M.

The nearest highway is the M7. Rail connections exist over the Nizhny Novgorod route (formerly a section of Transsib ), at the Elektrougli has a small local train station. In addition there are regular bus connections with Moscow.
