Elena, Bulgaria

Elena [ ɛlɛnɐ ] ( Bulgarian Елена ) is a town in central Bulgaria in the Oblast Veliko Tarnovo. It lies at the foot of the Balkan Mountains ( Stara Planina ).

History

During the Ottoman rule in Bulgaria hiding in Elena many freedom fighters like Vasil Levski.
