Elena Ivashchenko

Jelena Viktorovna Ivashchenko ( born December 28, 1984 in Omsk as Jelena Viktorovna Schleise, † June 15, 2013 in Tyumen) was a Russian judoka.

Career

Ivashchenko was 2007, 2009, 2011 and 2012 European champion in the weight category over 78 kilograms. 2006 and 2012, she also won the team title of European Champion with the Russian women 's judo national team.

She was seven-time Russian champion and won at the World Championships in 2007 and 2011 the bronze medal. In 2012 she was at the Summer Olympic Games in London Seventh.

On 15 June 2013, it has been found dead in Tyumen ( Western Siberia ). According to initial findings of the investigating authorities she had jumped from a window on the 15th floor of a house.
