Elena Tagliabue

Elena Tagliabue ( born December 12, 1977 in Edolo ) is a former Italian alpine skier. She was mainly specializes in the speed disciplines Downhill and Super- G and launched from 1996 to 2004 in the Ski World Cup.

Career

Tagliabue began her career with FIS races and in the European Cup, where she came for the first time in February 1996 in the top ten. A little later she reached the eighth place in the downhill at the Junior World Championship in 1996. In the season 1996/97 they celebrated in the Downhill and Super -G of Tignes two European Cup victories and finished with two more podiums each fourth in the super - G and downhill rating and the sixth overall. That same winter, they also drove their first race in the World Cup, but has not yet reached it the points.

On December 6, 1997 season with 27th place in the Super G in Lake Louise first World Cup points and reached in January already 18th in the Super G in Cortina d' Ampezzo. At the beginning of the season 1998/99 she went to 14th in the Super G in Lake Louise, but had otherwise mostly with placements content to rank 30. On 7 February 1999, the Italian for the first and only time at a World Cup at the start and was ranked 24 in the downhill.

Towards the end of the 1999/2000 season Tagliabue succeeded her best World Cup result: On 27 February 2000, she was fifth in the Super- G of Innsbruck. The next winter she did not come to that result and placed only twice in the top 30 in the 2001/ 02 season, their reach but again two ninth places in the Super G in St. Moritz and in the departure of Åre. At the 2002 Winter Olympics she was only in the combination at the start and was ranked 19th

In the season 2002/ 03 the Italian get good results more and they came only once in the top 30 in 2003/ 04 denied them their last three World Cup races in which they no longer scored, and took again increasingly participate in the European Cup race in where it still achieved a third place in the Super -G of Bardonecchia. After the season Tagliabue ended her career.
