Elenco

Elenco ( bras list, directory ) is a Brazilian record label that was founded in 1963 by music producer Aloysio de Oliveira.

The label has been particularly active in the heyday of bossa nova movement from 1963 to 1968. Among other things, the following artists have recorded for Elenco ( debut ) albums: Baden Powell de Aquino, Astrud Gilberto, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Sylvia Telles, Edu Lobo, Nara Leão, Vinícius de Moraes, Maria Bethânia, Dorival Caymmi, Sérgio Mendes, Maysa, Roberto Menescal, Tamba Trio, Lúcio Alves, Odette Lara, Sérgio Ricardo, Aracy de Almeida, Sidney Miller, Ciro Monteiro, Quarteto em Cy, Rosinha de Valença and Lennie Dale.

Elenco vinyl records have a distinctive design and are now sought-after collectibles. Some Elenco albums were reissued on CD, especially in Japan, from 2004, by Universal Music Brasil.
