Elend (Band)

Misery is a band founded in France in 1993, whose founding members are the Frenchman Iskandar Hasnawi and the Austrian Renaud Tschirner. Her style can be assigned to the neo-classical, while also dark ambient influences can be seen.

So far they have released two cycles and a stand-alone album. Just as the first cycle, Officium Tenebrarum, is also the second, Winds Cycle, a trilogy. The third part of the Winds Cycle was released in May 2007 on Holy Records in France and Prophecy Productions in the rest of Europe. The texts use different languages. Thus, the texts are in Latin on the albums of the Officium Tenebrarum cycle, Greek, English, Hebrew and French.
