Prophecy Productions

Prophecy Productions is a German music label based in Zeltingen -Rachtig, which was founded in 1996 by Martin Koller.

History

Since 1993 Martin Koller use the name Prophecy for a small business it mail order. As actual birth of the label Prophecy Productions, however, Koller sees the release of the album A Winter Sunset ... by Empyrium, which should be the only release under the name Prophecy originally, but by his success inspired Koller, the label continued to operate. In 1998, the office of Wittlich was moved to the nearby Zeltingen -Rachtig and also a long-term cooperation with Markus Stock and his recording studio Studio E Klangschmiede decided should be achieved by a continuously high standard of music productions Prophecy. As of 2002, Prophecy entered as a book publisher in appearance. So they released the translation of the book Lords of Chaos by Michael Moynihan and Didrik Søderlind. Followed in 2005 by the book Looking for Europe, in which the neo-folk scene is described. The book publishing business is now continued by the index publisher. Was released in 2010 with the sampler Whom the Moon a Nightsong Sings on Auerbach Phonograms a double album, featuring a variety of sizes and newcomers to the folk or neo-folk scene with mostly exclusive articles. The sampler announced with the song The Days Before the Fall is also the reunion between the time-resolved band Empyrium on.

Business Philosophy

By his own admission is the basic idea behind Prophecy, " high-quality, eerie - emotional music ' publish aesthetic". Aim is to enchant the listener musically one hand by the music, the other by beautiful products. Here, Prophecy not limited to a specific style of music. Rather, one finds in the label repertoire a wide spectrum, ranging from a dark metal to intense acoustic music to progressive and indie rock, but never did stop at unconventional music of any staining. The publications of the label can thus be narrow in no fixed genre. Mainly music from the areas of Black Metal, Rock / Metal and Neofolk is released, but also sometimes pop music.

Sub-labels

2003, the sub-label Lupus Lounge Auerbach and sound recordings were brought into being. The reasons for this were primarily practical in nature: first, the different labels are intended to serve as a guide for clients, help other press and distribution partners in the classification of stylistically wide-ranging repertoire Prophecy. While Lupus Lounge works primarily with selected musicians, the Black Metal attributed or are rooted in this, Auerbach recordings devoted primarily music that can be called due to its predominantly acoustic instrumentation and their peaceful nature in the broadest sense as a contemporary folk.
