Elin Wägner

Elin Matilda Elisabet Wägner ( born May 16, 1882 in Lund, † January 7, 1949 in Rösås, Blekinge län) was a Swedish author, journalist and feminist.

Elin Wägners publications of literary works act predominantly of women's rights, women's suffrage, peace issues, social issues and environmental issues. They belonged to the so-called Fogelstadgruppe, a women's organization that campaigned for the establishment of a fellow school for women on the estate Fogelstad at Katrine Holm. Wägner is mainly known for their commitment to women's suffrage and that she was one of the founders of Save the Children, 1919. From 1923 to 1936 Elin Wägner wrote for the women's magazine Tidevarvet. From 1944 she was a member of the Swedish Academy.

From 1910 to 1922 Elin Wägner was married to the literary critic John Landquist.
