Elisabeth of Brandenburg, Landgravine of Thuringia

Elisabeth von Brandenburg (c. 1206, † 1231 ) was Countess of Thuringia.

She was born the daughter of Margrave Albrecht II of Brandenburg and his wife Matilda of Groitzsch, daughter of Count Konrad von Groitzsch from the House of Wettin.

In 1228, she was with Henry Raspe, the later German anti-king and from 1227 Landgrave of Thuringia, married. The marriage remained childless and Elizabeth died after only three years at the age of about 25 years. Henry then married two more times and although Gertrude of Babenberg and Beatrix of Brabant. These two marriages remained childless and Henry enfeoffed Henry, the son of his sister Jutta, with the Landgraviate Thuringia.
