The Eltville station ( also: Eltville station (Rhine) ) is the City Eltville in the Rheingau on the right Rhine route from Wiesbaden to Koblenz Train Station.

History

The station was opened Nassauische Rheinbahn on 11 August 1856 the stretch of Wiesbaden- Rüdesheim. The station building was at first only an open hall.

On 1 July 1895, the steam tram Eltville - Schlangenbad was opened as Eltviller small train. This drove from the station forecourt through the vineyards and the wine-producing Neudorf (now Martin Thal ), past the high-altitude Rauenthal in the Taunus up at the health resort known for two centuries Schlangenbad. Infrastructure

The Eltville station is the only station between Rüdesheim and Wiesbaden main station, still has a third track. This is occasionally used as a siding for overhauls.
