The Eltville station ( also: Eltville station (Rhine) ) is the City Eltville in the Rheingau on the right Rhine route from Wiesbaden to Koblenz Train Station.
History
The station was opened Nassauische Rheinbahn on 11 August 1856 the stretch of Wiesbaden- Rüdesheim. The station building was at first only an open hall.
On 1 July 1895, the steam tram Eltville - Schlangenbad was opened as Eltviller small train. This drove from the station forecourt through the vineyards and the wine-producing Neudorf (now Martin Thal ), past the high-altitude Rauenthal in the Taunus up at the health resort known for two centuries Schlangenbad. On 1 December 1922, the narrow-gauge railway was due to declining passenger numbers from the previous owner, the General German light railway - AG and its operating since 1915 operating company, the General German railway -GmbH ( ADEG ) set.
Infrastructure
The station building is a traufständiger, two-storey stucco building with a hipped roof, both sides with shallow extensions.
The Eltville station is the only station between Rüdesheim and Wiesbaden main station, still has a third track. This is occasionally used as a siding for overhauls. The Eltviller station has a main platform ( platform 1), which is accessible and an island platform for the tracks 2 and 3, which can only be reached via the stairs of an underpass. From track 1, the trains in the direction of Wiesbaden and Frankfurt ( Main ) Hauptbahnhof and from track 2 in direction Rudesheim, Kaub, Koblenz and Neuwied. Switches and signals of the station are controlled by a push button interlocking.
At the station forecourt a bus station with bus stops for the regular service of the ORN to Rüdesheim and Wiesbaden as well as Kiedrich and Kloster Eberbach or after Martinsthal, Rauenthal and Schlangenbad was established. Also located at the train station a taxi stand and towards the underpass wine cave, a P R facility, which is accessible via the Mälzereiweg walk.
Operation
Passenger
From the network of long-distance passenger transport, the train station is disconnected for years. The only regularly scheduled exceptions presented on Sundays and public holidays in September and October 2011, the IC 2412 from Frankfurt Hbf to Hamburg -Altona and the D 2429 Dortmund on Dusseldorf, Cologne and Neuwied to Eltville dar.
