Elvis Forde

Elvis Forde ( born November 18, 1959 in Saint Andrew, Barbados ) is a former Barbadian athlete. With the Barbadian 4 x 400 - meter relay team he finished sixth at the Olympic Games in 1984.

Forde studied in the United States at the Murray State University and at Southern Illinois University. During his studies, he was one each for athletics selection of his university, at Southern Illinois, he was inducted into the Athletics Hall of Fame in 1995. Forde won four NCAA titles and created the season of Southern Illinois in 3:00,78 minutes a U.S. high school record.

International Forde approached for his home country of Barbados. In the 1984 Olympics he reached the 400 - meter race the semi-finals, and was there in 45.32 seconds in sixth. The 4-by- 400 - meter relay in the occupation of Richard Louis, David Peltier, Clyde Edwards and Elvis Forde reached the final and finished in sixth place there.

In the Central American and Carribbean Championships Forde won the bronze medal in 1985 and 1986 before he was able to win gold in 1987. In between Forde had reached at the World Indoor Championships in 1987 to the semifinals. Outdoors at the World Championships in 1987 Forde was eliminated in the quarterfinals. Also at the 1988 Olympics he was eliminated in the quarterfinals, with the relay missed Forde fifth in the semifinals only just the final.

After finishing his career Forde From 1989 to 2002 as a track coach at Austin Peay State University, since 2002 he is the head coach at Illinois State University.

Elvis Forde had a competition weight of 74 kg at a height of 1.80 m. He is married and has two children.
