Embeth Davidtz

Embeth Jean Davidtz ( born August 11, 1965 in Lafayette, Indiana) is an American film and theater actress of South African descent.

Life and career

Davidtz was born as the daughter of South African parents in Indiana, where her father studied at Purdue University. At the age of nine she moved with her parents to South Africa, grew up there and studied at Rhodes University in Grahamstown. My stage debut as Juliet in Romeo and Juliet received good reviews. Upon her return to the United States, they settled in Los Angeles and began to participate in small NBC films. Her most famous role - at the same time, her breakthrough - was 1993, the Jewess Helene Hirsch in Steven Spielberg's Holocaust drama Schindler's List. Davidtz is married since June 22, 2002 and with her husband, Jason Sloane, two children.
