Emerson Drive

Emerson Drive is a Canadian country music band. The band was founded in 1995 in Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada. The band consists of Brad Mates ( singer), Danick Dupelle (guitar), Mike Melancon (drums ), Dale Wallace (keyboards) and David Pichette (fiddle ).

Band History

The band experienced a growing awareness by the release of two albums under the band name 12 Gauge. With the first single, the band won a local contest, the " Battle of the Bands " contest. This was followed by the publication of further two singles and a music video, with which they were very successful in the Canadian country charts. 1999 the band changed its name to Emerson Drive. The band moved for a time to Nashville, Tennessee, to sign a recording contract with a record company. Emerson Drive released two albums under the DreamWorks recording contract and achieved very good rankings in the us amerikanaischen and Canadian Country Music Charts. After DreamWorks in 2005 ran into financial problems, the band signed a record deal with Midas Records Nashville, where the band released several songs and also their first number one position reached with the single " Moments". 2008 Midas Records closed its country music division and the band was signed to the record companies Valory Music Co. The new album, "Believe" was produced in cooperation with Midas Records.

In 2002, the band won the award ceremony of the Canadian Country Music Association in the categories of Best New Artist, Group or Duo, and of the Year and the Chevy Trucks Rising Star Award. 2003 the band won at the Academy of Country Music in the Category: Top New Vocal Group or Duo. 2007 the band won at the Canadian Country Music Association in the categories of Group or Duo of the Year, CMT Music Video of the Year - "Moments", Album of the Year - Countrified and the Single of the Year - "Moments"
