Emily VanCamp

Emily Irene VanCamp ( born May 12, 1986 in Port Perry, Ontario ) is a Canadian actress.

Life

Childhood

Emily VanCamp was born in Port Perry Canadian and grew up with three siblings. Besides her native French, she is fluent in English and Spanish. At the age of twelve years she attended the dance school L' Ecole Superieure de Danse de Quebec in Montreal, then she joined the ballet company Les Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montréal. After she had to film Ladies Room visits her sister Katie in 1999 filming, she also wanted to be an actress.

Career

First she played small roles in television series and films like in No Good Deed with Samuel L. Jackson and Milla Jovovich. Emily VanCamp in 2002 was seen in a supporting role in the TV series Glory Days. Producer Greg Berlanti, who is responsible among other things for the youth series Dawson 's Creek, became aware of the young actress, and put it in his new series, Everwood. It embodied VanCamp from 2002 to the end of the series in 2006, the role of the high school student Amy Abbott alongside Treat Williams and Gregory Smith. With this role, she gained national and international fame.

VanCamp currently resides in Los Angeles. Since 2011 she has been with her partner in series Revenge Josh Bowman dating. VanCamps German voice actress Magdalena Turba.

Awards

For her performance in the series Everwood VanCamp was nominated in 2003, 2004 and 2005 for Best TV Actress in a Drama Series for a Teen Choice Award and once for a Young Artist Award. In October 2010, she was honored at the San Diego Film Festival for her starring role in Norman as best actress.
