Emma Leavitt-Morgan

Emma Leavitt Morgan ( * May 22, 1865, † 1956) was an American tennis player.

Life

Emma Leavitt was born 1865. On January 22, 1885, married at St. Thomas Church in New York William Fellowes Morgan. In 1891 she won at the side of the Irish Mabel Cahill the women's doubles at the U.S. Tennis Championships. In the final they defeated the previous year's winners Ellen and Grace Roosevelt in three sets 2:6, 8:6, 6:4. Leavitt Morgan died in 1956 and was buried in Green-Wood Cemetery in Brooklyn.
