Emmanuel Frimpong (2011)

Emmanuel Yaw Frimpong ( born January 10, 1992 in Kumasi ) is a Ghanaian- English footballer, who is under contract with FC Barnsley since 2014.

Emmanuel Yaw Frimpong was born in Kumasi, but moved throughout his childhood to Tottenham, where he was discovered by scouts of Arsenal FC. He attended Gladesmore Community School in Tottenham, but broke off at the age of fourteen years, in order to concentrate fully on at Arsenal football.

He came up with nine years in the youth academy of Arsenal FC. At the Academy team, he succeeded, among other goals against Coventry City and Milton Keynes Dons. In 2008 he was included in the squad of the reserve team. On 23 September 2008 he got the chance to sniff and his friend from the youth academy Jay Emmanuel -Thomas professional air and sat by the Carling Cup game against Sheffield United both on the bench.

On 22 May 2009 he started the FA Youth Cup final against Liverpool in the starting lineup, but had to be replaced again because of an injury after a quarter of an hour. Arsenal won 4-1 and secured the FA Youth Cup in 2008 /09. After a good pre-season training in Austria in 2010, he received praise from coach Arsene Wenger after the games at the " Emirates Cup ." Wenger said Frimpong had done his job really well. Although he was not a good dribbler, but he same, this is from his fighting spirit.

On 19 August 2010, he was injured during training on the anterior cruciate ligament and he was threatened with a forced break for six to nine months. In the 2011/12 season he came on the opening day of the Premier League against Newcastle United to his pro debut when he came on in the second half for Tomáš Rosický. In the second season game in the 0-2 defeat against Liverpool in the 69th minute, he received the first yellow card of his career.

31 December 2011 Arsenal Frimpong lent to the end of the season to the Wolverhampton Wanderers from. On November 19, 2012 Frimpong on loan until the end of Charlton Athletic.

On January 25, 2013 Frimpong was until end of season on loan at Fulham.

On January 31, 2014 Frimpong joined the Football League Championship for Barnsley FC.

National

2007, Frimpong opted for the English U -16 national aground. In March 2008, he scored at the tournament of Montaigu in 71 minutes 1-0 in the match against Germany.

In 2009 he announced would rather want to play for Ghana. He says he would play for Ghana because it was a dream of his to play for Ghana and he feels more connected to his home country than with England. In August 2010, he decided to and was nominated for the English U-19, but was forced due to injury of the anterior cruciate ligament cancel.

In February 2011, he said in an interview: "I have my family always said that if Ghana calls me, I will personally ride my bicycle from England to Ghana to play for the Black Stars. " ( GhanaToGhana.com )

On March 24, 2013, came as part of the qualification for the FIFA World Cup in 2014 against Sudan on his first international cap when he came on as a substitute in the 4-0 win in the 66th minute for Mohammed Rabiu.

Game style

Frimpong is known for its toughness and tackles and is therefore compared with his former team-mate Alexandre Song.
