Emmanuel Milingo

Emmanuel Milingo ( born June 13, 1930 in Zambia ) is a former Roman Catholic archbishop and exorcist.

Life

1958 received Emmanuel Milingo ordained a priest. Subsequently he was pastor from 1963 to 1966 in Chipata. In 1969 he was called by Pope Paul VI. appointed Archbishop of Lusaka; he was at that time the youngest bishop in Africa. The episcopal consecration on August 1, 1969 He received his Paul VI. He himself had to give up the post in 1983 after it became known that he exorcised Mashawe spirits. In 1983, he was transferred as Archbishop Curia to Rome and was then well known for its unconventional healing services, especially in Italy. He later became supporters of the Unification Church and its founder Sun Myung Moon, and married in 2001 at the age of 71 years, the Korean doctor Maria Sung in New York.

In 2006 he returned briefly to the Catholic faith and in the custody of the Church - among other things, at the urging of Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone. But in the same year he resumed contact with the Unification Church and his wife. All attempts at mediation by the Vatican were unsuccessful. In September 2006, Milingo finally consecrated four married men in Washington DC without papal approval as bishops. He sealed the break with the Church.
