Emperor Suzaku

Suzaku (Japanese朱雀 天皇, Suzaku - tennō; born September 7, 923 ( traditional: ENCHO 01/07/24 ); † September 6, 952 ( traditional: Tenryaku 8.6.15 ) ) was the 61st Tennō of Japan ( 930-946 ). He was the third son of Daigo- Tennō with the Emperor 's wife Yasuko, an own sister Fujiwara no Tokihiras.

Fujiwara no Tadahira was appointed in 930, by the resigning Daigo Tenno, who was already dying, regent ( sesshō ) for the 7 -year-old Crown Prince Hiroakira.

During his reign there were two major rebellions. These were the revolt of Taira no Masakado in Kantō and piracy of Fujiwara no Sumitomo ( † 941/ 07).

Suzaku joined 946/ 04 in favor of his younger brother Murakami back.
