Engin de débarquement amphibie rapide

The Engin de débarquement amphibian rapide (EDA -R ) is a class of ship of the French Navy.

Development

Development began in 2000 and the prototype was completed by the Gamelin shipyard in Saint -Malo in 2008 and handed over to the Navy in Toulon. An order was made on four boats. In March 2010, there were tests with the loading and transport of Leclerc main battle tanks. Ships with the same concept are also available in other sizes.
