Enid Lake

The Enid Lake is a reservoir of Yocona River in the north of the U.S. state of Mississippi. It is situated mostly in Yalobusha County ( smaller parts of the North Shore are in the counties of Panola and Lafayette ) and is one of four reservoirs that were built by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to regulate the water level in the basin of the Yazoo River. The dam is about 2.5 km northeast of the town Enid in neighboring Tallahatchie County.

It was completed in 1952. The reservoir is part of the Mississippi River Basin Flood Control Project, which is developed based on the experience from the flood of 1927.

On the shores of Enid Lake is George Payne Cossar State Park.
