Enide

Enid [' enid ], even Enid, is a legendary figure from Celtic mythology of Wales. She is the female protagonist of the story mittelkymrischen Gereint fab heiress ( " Gereint Erbins son "), one of the "Three Romances " (Y Tair Rhamant ).

Gereint fab heiress

Enid is the daughter of an impoverished nobleman, of the knight Gereint granted accommodation. This follows the " knight with the hawk ," the Gwenhwyfar, wife of King Arthur, and myself had done to him a disgrace. Upon entering the home of his host he first sees his daughter.

Gereint struggling with many knights, always wins, even even have to save them from a kidnapping Enid, until he is finally killed by three giants in battle. When he lies on a stretcher and Count Limwris Enid harassed and violently slaps because of their resistance, he wakes up at her scream from death and splitting the opponents head. A former enemy, who became a friend, Gwiffred petit, the little king, takes him in and nurses him back healthy with Enid's help. As Gereint realizes how much she has suffered from its hardness and yet still loves him, he reconciles with her.

Matière de Bretagne

In the novel versions of Matière de Bretagne Enid Chrétien de Troyes contributes Erec et Enide in his poem the name Enide and Hartmann von Aue 's Erec Enite.
