Enniskerry

Enniskerry ( Irish: Áth na Sceire or older Áth na Scairbhe ) is a small town with 1881 inhabitants ( 2006) in County Wicklow, Ireland. The town lies on the River Dargle at the foot of the Wicklow Mountains.

The road R117 connects the village, which lies 20 km south of Dublin, with the N11 national road that leads from Dublin to the south. A bus runs from the town center from every half hour to the city center of Dublin. Due to its central location, it is the starting station for those who want to visit the Wicklow Mountains. From the village you can see the Sugarloaf Mountain, the " Sugar Loaf Ireland ".

The village itself has some small shops, pubs, a hotel and some Bed and Breakfast.

In Enniskerry, the Irish singer and songwriter Chris de Burgh lives.
