Enrico Giovannini

Enrico Giovannini ( born June 6, 1957 in Rome ) is an Italian economist. From July 2009 to April 2013 he was president of the Istituto Nazionale di Statistica Statistical Office (ISTAT ), from April 28, 2013 he was up to the February 22, 2014 non-party labor and social affairs ministers in the Cabinet Letta.

Career

Giovannini graduated in 1981 to study economics at the University La Sapienza in Rome and came from the following year as a research assistant in the services of the ISTAT, where he held various senior positions over time. In addition, he also worked as a university professor at several Italian universities. In 2002 he was appointed Professor of Economic Statistics at the University of Tor Vergata in Rome. Giovannini was or is a member of several scientific bodies, societies and councils. From 2001 to 2009 he was Chief Statistician and Director of the Statistic Directorate of the OECD in Paris.
