Enrique Ballestrero

Led Enrique " Pulpo " Ballestrero, also known as Enrique Ballesteros and nicknamed " Quique ", ( born January 18, 1905 in Colonia, Uruguay, † 11 October 1969 in Montevideo, Uruguay ) was a Uruguayan football goalkeeper.

Association

The 183 centimeters and 83 kilograms Goalkeeper lived and worked in the Barrio Cerro as a tractor driver in the local frozen meat factory ( Frigorífico ) Swift. He first played for the team Solferino, Dublin (1921) and Misiones (1922 ). From 1924 to 1934 he was then eleven rounds in rows of Rampla Juniors. In his time with the Rojiverdes he formed in 1928 together with Aguirre and Pedro Arispe one of the most outstanding defensive formations in the history of Uruguayan football. In 1927, he was already with his teammates Uruguayan master, in the years 1928 and 1932 celebrated his club in each case the Vice - country championship. In 1929 he also went with the Rampla Juniors extensive European tour, in which his club celebrated major victories against Ajax Amsterdam and Olympique Marseille. National

Ballestrero was a member of the Uruguayan national football team. Overall, he graduated in the period from 25 May 1930 to January 23, 1937 19 caps for Uruguay.
