Environment Prize (German Environment Foundation)
The German Environmental Award, also Environmental Award of the Federal Environmental Foundation, is awarded annually since 1993 by the German Federal Environmental Foundation ( DBU). With 500,000 euros it is the most highly doped environmental award in Europe.
It is awarded for achievements that have contributed significantly and in an exemplary manner for the protection and preservation of our environment and will contribute in the future to a significant environmental benefits.
Selection criteria
The following criteria characterize the central idea of the price:
- The excellent performance should primarily have a role model for other people, companies and organizations.
- The yield premium on performance should help to identify environmental problems in time and defuse using appropriate precautionary and implementation strategies.
- The merits should be so convincing that an imitation effect. According to the model character and the practicability of the foremost means.
- Innovative, networked holistic approaches are particularly considered. This cooperation -creating benefits are valued expression interdisciplinary priority.
