Features

Butterfly

The wingspan of the butterfly is 28 to 34 millimeters. The ground color of the forewings is creamy white. The root area is gray. The midfield is dark brown, blue-gray created in the center, provided with a black center and jagged outward. The broad white transverse band between the middle and Saumfeld contains no dark wavy line. The Saumfeld is dark gray-brown. The fringes are clearly spotted. Caterpillar

Adults caterpillars are light brown in color. On the back they show in the central area dark spots and dark brown caret whose tips are directed forward.

Similar Species

The gray -banded Labkrautspanner ( Epirrhoe alternata ) is on average smaller and distinguished by a dark wavy line in the white transverse fascia as well as weaker Pied fringe.

Geographical distribution and occurrence
