Erich Geyer

Erich Geyer ( born November 7, 1950 in Adel village) is a former football player and football coach who spent most of his career in the United States.

Career

Player

Erich Geyer played a young age at SC Adeldorf, ASV Herzogenaurach and TSV Hochstadt, before going on to the then third-tier division 1 FC Bayern Bamberg moved to SpVgg Fürth in the 2nd Bundesliga South before the 1976/77 season. There he remained for four seasons and brought it to 96 games and 11 goals. He then moved to the U.S. and first joined the Hartford Hellions at. After a year he changed to the San Diego Sockers in the North American Soccer League ( NASL ), where he remained until 1984. It was followed by a season with the Chicago Sting, after which he returned to San Diego.

Coach

1984 Geyer played only twice for San Diego, but there was already working as an assistant coach. After the active player career Geyer was launched in December 1986 as a coach for the Chicago Sting, where he was dismissed in February 1988. In 1989 he became an assistant coach with the San Diego Sockers and remained there until the spring of 1992. Afterwards, he was head coach at Monterrey La Raza in Mexico. In 1997 he left the club, but returned in 1999 and remained for another season. In August 2002, he took over the team from Harrisburg Heat. In 2004 he moved back to Monterrey in Mexico, where he briefly the clubs Monterrey Tigres Monterrey Fury and trained within this year.
