Erich Hintzsche

Erich Hintzsche ( born August 26, 1900 in Halberstadt, † 20 July 1975 levels ) was a Swiss physician and medical historian of German origin, as well as a lecturer and professor at the University of Bern.

Life

Hintz cal father was a Prussian civil servant. 1918 was Hintzsche the Abitur. From 1919, he was enrolled at the Medical Faculty of the University of Halle an der Saale. In 1925 he received his PhD under the direction of Hermann Stieve at the Anatomical Institute of the same university. In the same year he married Hilde Koeppe, with whom he later had two daughters. He then became assistant to Stieve.

Stieve 1928 gave him a job as a prosector at the University of Bern. Hintzsche then moved with his wife to Bern, where he was under the influence of anatomical professor Karl Wilhelm Zimmermann soon. 1928 Hintzsche lecturer at the University of Bern. Even under carpenter successor Hans Bluntschli remained Hintzsche prosector. In 1935, he was an associate professor.

1947 sparked Hintzsche Bluntschli from as Professor and Director of the Anatomical Institute. Soon he also received Swiss citizenship. From 1947 to 1957 Hintzsche was in contact with Henry E. Sigerist. 1967 Hintzsche resigned as professor and was supervisor of the Medical Historical Library of the University of Bern. For his research on Albrecht von Haller, he received the castle Knightly medal for services to the city of Bern.
