Erik Hochstein

Erik Hochstein ( born October 1, 1968 in Dusseldorf ) is a swimming athletes from the Federal Republic of Germany, which in 1988 won an Olympic bronze medal.

Hochstein started for the SG Bochum-. In 1986 he joined the European Short Course Cup for the first time in the German national team. The European Swimming Championship 1987 Hochstein was indeed the squad, but was not used in the season - final race. In the German Swimming Championships 1988 he won the 200m freestyle in third place behind Michael Gross and Thomas Fahrner. He qualified for the Olympic Games in Seoul. There he was starting swimmer of the German 4 x 200-meter freestyle relay that won the bronze medal behind the squadrons from the U.S. and from the GDR to the occupation Hochstein, Fahrner, Henkel and Large. The European Swimming Championship 1989 Hochstein belonged again to the 4-by- 200 - meter relay, the silver medal behind the Italian season but won against the team from the GDR in the occupation of Peter Sitt, Martin Herrmann, Erik Hochstein and Stefan Pfeiffer.

Erik Hochstein studied at the University of Southern California, where he also worked as a swimming coach later. Erik Hochstein is still active as Senior swimmers in the class Ü40.
