Erika Kasahara

Erika Kasahara (Japanese笠原 江 梨 香, Erika Kasahara; born October 3, 1990 in Itō ) is a Japanese Taekwondoin. It starts in the weight category up to 49 kilograms.

Her first international title fights denied Kasahara at the Asia Cup 2008 in Henan. The following year she took part in Copenhagen for the first time at the World Cup. In the category up to 49 kilograms, she reached the second round. Their first international medal she won silver at the Asia Cup 2010 in Astana. Kasahara could reach the knockout stage again at the 2011 World Championships in Gyeongju. In the Asian Olympic qualifying tournament in Bangkok, she moved in the class up to 49 kg to the final against Chanatip Sonkham and qualified for the 2012 Olympic Games in London. There they came to seventh place.

Kasahara studied at the Daitō - Bunka University. She participated in two Universiade, her best result was the quarter-finals in 2009.
