Erlend Øye

Erlend Øye ( born November 21, 1975 in Bergen) is a Norwegian musician. Øye is best known as part of the pop duo Kings of Convenience, which he founded in the late 1990s along with his school friend Eirik Bøe Glambek. In 2003, he released his debut as a solo artist.

Øye undertook his first musical steps with the band Skog, which he founded in the mid-1990s, together with some friends. In 1997 he moved to London and joined the band on Peachfuzz. With a holiday in his Norwegian homeland along with Bøe did the idea of playing together, and they founded the Kings of Convenience. The first album, Quiet is the New Loud, was released in 2001. During the same year, he could be heard as a guest vocalist on the debut album by Röyksopp.

Then Øye turned more electronic music and spent the next years in Berlin or traveling around the world. Yet his first solo album, Unrest, which he recorded in ten cities and published in 2003, was born. As a guest musician on it, among other Metro Area, Prefuse 73, and Schneider TM are heard.

As a result, Øye toured as a DJ in 2004 and brought a mix in the DJ-Kicks series on the market. Erlend Øye is also head and lead singer of The Whitest Boy Alive, which released their debut album "Dreams" in spring 2006.
