Metro Area

Morgan Geist (* in New Jersey) is an American DJ and producer in the field of techno. He also published under the pseudonyms Faumgeist, ghee, Jersey Devil Social Club, Magic Tim and Unrhythm Trax.

Career

His first 12 "release appeared in 1994 to Dan Curtin's Metamorphic label. Later he founded the label Environ, in which in 1997 released his first album., He produced, among other remixes for artists such as The Rapture, UNKLE, Erlend Øye and Franz Ferdinand. In September 2008, the LP Double Night Time appeared on his label Environ, where the two guest vocalist Kelley Polar and Jeremy Greenspan of the Junior Boys were involved in the production.

Together with producer Darshan Jesrani spirit forms the music project Metro Area. Inspired by the show on New York's KISS -FM transmitter with 12 Days of KISSmas they produced the track atmosphérique. In 1999, under the label Environ out their first joint EP. In 2002, the eponymous album Metro Area, which includes all previous tracks, plus four new titles appeared. By mixing classic with modern electronic disco rhythms, the album reached much attention. Finally, it was chosen, among other things by the magazine intro to one of the best albums of the year 2002.
