Ernest, Count of Stolberg-Ilsenburg

Ernst Reich Graf zu Stolberg, Königstein, Rochefort, Wernigerode and Hohenstein, Mr. Eppstein, Miinzenberg Breuberg, Agimont, Lohra and Velcro Berg ( born March 25, 1650 in Ilsenburg, † November 9, 1710 Ilse castle, buried December 21, 1710 in the Castle Church Ilse castle ) was a German politician. He ruled until his death on the county of Wernigerode.

He is the son of Heinrich Ernst zu Stolberg and his wife Anna Elisabeth. On June 10, 1672, he married Sophia Dorothea of Schwarzburg from the house of Arnstadt (* June 8, 1647, † April 26, 1708 ). His two sons died in infancy. Him only survived the daughter of Sophia Elizabeth, who married into the house of Reuss to Untergreiz.

In his will, donated by Count Ernst in 1710, after his wife had already donated 1000 dollars, the so-called Greizer bequest in the amount of 500 dollars for the poor and Bedürftigte in the county of Wernigerode, whose interest has been paid until 1931.

After his death without male heirs, the county of Wernigerode fell to his nephew Christian Ernst of Stolberg- Wernigerode.
