Ernest Favenc

Ernest Favenc ( born October 21, 1845 in London, United Kingdom, † November 14, 1908 in Sydney, Australia) was an Australian researcher.

He was educated in Berlin and Oxford.

In 1863 he came to New South Wales in and after he had lived for a year in a commercial position, he worked as a shepherd in the border districts of Queensland.

In 1878 he was selected, the land along the western edge of Queensland from exploring in the direction of Darwin, to see whether a railroad could be built. In the early 1880s, he also undertook further expeditions to the south of the Gulf of Carpentaria and the north-west of Western Australia.
