Ernst Friedrich Karl Rosenmüller

Ernst Friedrich Karl ( Carl ) Rose Müller ( born December 10, 1768 in Heßberg in Hildburghausen, † September 17, 1835 in Leipzig ) was a German Protestant theologian and orientalist. He was the son of the theologian Johann Georg Müller Rose ( 1736-1815 ).

Life

Rose Müller studied in Leipzig. In 1796 he became an associate professor of Arabic at the University of Leipzig. The chair of Oriental languages ​​at Leipzig he received in 1813. His successor in that office in 1836 Heinrich Leberecht Fleischer.

On November 1, 1817 Rose Müller was awarded an honorary doctorate from the Faculty of Theology of the University of Halle.
