Erwin Nestle

Erwin Nestle ( May 22nd, 1883 in Münsingen (Württemberg ), † November 21, 1972 in Ulm ) was a Protestant theologian and philologist.

Nestle continued the editing work begun by his father Eberhard Nestle of the New Testament in Ulm. He developed in the 13th edition of Novum Testamentum Grace of 1927, the foundations of the text apparatus still in use. The Barbara and Kurt Aland in Münster advanced plant is also called " Nestle " or " Nestle -Aland ".

The plans by his father critical edition of Luther's Latin Vulgate revision of the Weimar edition he published after his death.
