Esko-Juhani Tennilä

Esko- Juhani Tennilä ( born October 10, 1947 in Rovaniemi ) is a Finnish politician links, currently a member of the Left Alliance. From 1975 to 2011 he was a member of the Finnish Parliament.

Tennilä was born in northern Finland Rovaniemi, studying after school at the University of Tampere. From 1966 to 1975 he worked as an editor at the newspaper Hämeen Yhteistyö. In 1975 he was the Democratic Union of the Finnish people ( SKDL ) were elected to the Finnish parliament. In the parliamentary elections in Finland 1983, he ran as an independent candidate and was re-elected. In Parliament he joined then at the fraction of the SKDL. In 1987 he was elected as a Democratic Alternative in the Finnish Parliament. The Democratic Alternative arose from the strictly Marxist wing of the Communist Party of Finland (SKP ) or the SKDL and reached in the elections in 1987 a total of four seats. However Tennilä soon joined the newly formed Communist Party of Finland (Unity) ( SKPy ) in which he was chairman from 1989 to 1990. In 1990 he joined back as chairman of the SKPy to be a member of the left-wing alliance. Within the Linksbündisses he was offered an internal critic. 1995 Tennilä was expelled from the parliamentary group of the Left Alliance, when he objected to the participation of Linksbündisses at the Rainbow Coalition Paavo Lipponen of the Social Democratic Party. But was resumed in the Group in 1999.

Esko- Juhani Tennilä tried always to profile as a representative of Lapland. In the parliamentary elections in 1979, 1983, 1995 and 1999 he was the candidate with the most votes in the constituency Lapland.

Tennilä married in 1965 Leena Tuulikki Uusipaavalniemi. The couple has two children: Arto (* 1966) and Tiina (1967 ). Besides being a politician Tennilä also writes poetry and children's books.
