Espadeiro

Espadeiro is a red wine grape that is grown both in the Spanish region of Galicia Rias Baixas as well as in Portugal. In Portugal it is approved for the regions of Douro, Minho and Beira Litoral and is there an area of ​​2,387 hectares. When Espadeiro is less a defined grape variety but rather a family:

  • The game types tintas, vinhoes and souzoes arising all a deep red wine.
  • The game types Espadeira Mole and Espadeira da terra, which give a light red wine.
  • There is also a version in pink.

The late maturing variety produces wines with a distinct character.
