The Estadio Municipal Alfonso Murube is a football stadium in the Spanish autonomous city of Ceuta, on the North African coast.

History

The stadium was opened in 1933 as the Campo Municipal de Deporte, but was nicknamed " Docker " due to the military barracks near the venue. On April 17, 1943, the renamed Estadio Alfonso Murube was in honor of a former player's former home team Ceuta Clubsport who fell during the Spanish Civil War in Aranjuez. The stadium, which served as a home for the course of history many teams from Ceuta, was in 1991, after the dissolution of Agrupación Deportiva Ceuta, abandoned and began to deteriorate. When the club AD Ceuta was re-established in 1996, the community decided to renovate the stadium and to recondition. The inauguration of the new Estadio Alfonso Murube that offered some 6,500 spectators place, took place on 8 October 1997 with a match between the home team and the FC Algeciras and ended with a 4-2 victory for Ceuta.

In the Copa del Rey 2000/01 AD Ceuta sat by, among others, against FC Málaga and failed only in the third round on main FC Barcelona, who was on 3 January 2001 as a guest at the Estadio Alfonso Murube.

On 16 April 2002, the Spanish U -21 played here a friendly match against the team of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, the Iberians won 2-1 and the gates of the home team scored José Antonio Reyes and Fernando Torres.
