Estadio Banorte

The Estadio Banorte is a football stadium in Culiacan, the capital of the Mexican state of Sinaloa. It is named after the credit institution which has acquired the naming rights to the stadium.

History

The 21,000 capacity stadium was built in the record time of three months, to serve as the home ground of the newly founded club Dorados de Sinaloa, the 2003/ 04 season on the second-rate La Liga 'A' recorded in the season. After the association succeeded in direct ascent, he was represented for the seasons 2004/ 05 and 2005/ 06 in the first division and the stadium thus for two years the venue of Erstligabegegnungen.

The stadium opened on August 23, 2003 with the first home game of the Dorados in the second division against the northern Mexican rival Cobras Ciudad Juárez.
