The Estadio Gran Parque Central, also briefly called Parque Central, is a stadium in the Uruguayan capital, Montevideo.

Built in 1900 and on May 25, 1900 officially opened the stadium is located between the streets Carlos Anaya, Jaime Cibils, General Urquiza and Comandante Braga in the Barrio La Blanqueada. It now has a capacity of 26,500 spectators.

In the stadium in 1923 and 1924, the Copa America were held. The stadium was both one of the three venues of the FIFA World Cup 1930 as well as the stadium where the first game in the history of the World Cup Soccer Championships, USA was played against Belgium (3-0 ). Over time, the stadium was a total of three times (1944, 1974 and 2005) renovated. Today, the local football club Nacional Montevideo plays its home games from here.

However, the stadium underwent in the course of its history not only sports highlights, but was also the scene of a tragic event of the Uruguayan football history. Thus, the then captain of Nacional Montevideo Abdon Porte shot there on the night of March 5, 1918 in the center circle.
