Estrel Hotel

The Estrel in Berlin, with 1125 rooms and a turnover of approximately 49.6 million euros in 2011, Germany's largest hotel. It is classified in the category DEHOGA 4 . It employs approximately 450 permanent employees. The Estrel not belong to any hotel chain, but is privately owned contractor Ekkehard Streletzki, who received the industry award Hotelier of the Year 2000 for the Estrel project. The name of the hotel dates back to the shortening of the name of the owner.

The hotel is located outside the city center on a sunny Allee City Rail Station in Neukölln on the edge of a commercial area and has its own railway siding for charter trains and a boat dock at the Neukölln shipping canal in the sun bridge for boat trips to the star and circle navigation.

The Estrel was partially opened on 14 October 1994, on 4 May 1995, finally, the official inauguration took place. The expansion of the complex is done with a hotel tower, scheduled to open in 2017. The Estrel Tower on neighboring property - the parking lot on the opposite side of the Sun Avenue - is expected to reach a height of 176 meters with 50 floors and 700 hotel rooms. This building will be the tallest building in Berlin and the highest German hotel. The winning design by the Berlin architectural office Barkow Leibinger was confirmed on 25 February 2014, the construction is scheduled to begin in 2015.
