Étiemble

René Etiemble, or shortly Etiemble ( born January 26, 1909 in Mayenne, Mayenne; † 7 January 2002, Vigny, Marville - Moutiers- Brûlé, Canton Dreux -Sud, Eure -et -Loir ), was a French sinologist, high school teacher and essayist. As a university professor at the Sorbonne in Paris (1955-1978), he was one of the importers of comparative literature or comparative literature.

Life

Etiemble visited in Laval high school and after the Baccalauréat ( High School ), he moved to Paris to be there at the Lycée Louis -le- Grand to prepare for the entrance examination for the Ecole Normale Supérieure. At the Ecole Normale Supérieure in 1929, he recorded and gained 1932 agrégation de grammaire. From 1933 to 1936 he was a fellow of the Fondation Thiers.
