Étoiles de Pau

The horse show Stars de Pau (French star of Pau ) is an annual competition taking place in eventing. The tournament will be held in the southern French city of Pau and represents the completion of the season versatility

Tournament and history

The competition is organized by World Equestrian Association FEI to the world's six major tournaments, category CCI 4 *, calculated (the others are the Badminton Horse Trials, the Burghley Horse Trials, the Rolex Kentucky Three Day, the Australian International Three Day Event and the Luhmühlen versatility ). From the results of the CCI **** tournaments are further set since 2008, a body set up by the FEI Appreciation (HSBC FEI Classics ); the five top-ranked of these rankings will receive prize money of 333,000 U.S. $.

The tournament was first held in 1991, first as a CCI 1 *. The following year, the tender has been amended in subsequent years, the tournament was advertised as CCI 2 *. In 2001, the European Championship of Eventing was held in Pau.

After the tournament in 2002 was advertised as 3 * CCI, it was 2003 and 2004, the final of the World Cup of Eventing.
