Ettore Giannini

Ettore Giannini (* October 15, 1912 in Naples, † 15 November 1990 in Massa Lubrense ) was an Italian theater director and filmmaker.

Life

Giannini had been finished in law, devoted himself from 1936 but the writing numerous comedies, first mainly for radio performances. His short film La prua incantata was awarded several times. He studied directing at Guido Salvini and Tatiana Pavlova and assisted Jacques Copeau. From 1940 Giannini was sought after director for the stage and staged plays by, among other things Shaw, Pirandello, Goldoni, Coward, Rattigan and Tolstoy. For the Scala in Milan, he directed several operas and ballets. After he had taken care of in the 1950s to synchronous work, he staged again in 1964 for the stage. In The Merchant of Venice Rina Morelli and Paolo Stoppa played.

For the cinema he was repeatedly and worked in a variety of functions; as a writer (L' anonima Raylott after own 1936 Processo alla città 1952), actor, assistant director and dialogue writer ( Per pochi dollari ancora 1965). His work as a director Carosello napoletano from 1954 with Sophia Loren protrudes as colorful musical about the history of Neapolitan music out not only in their genre.
